This song was written over the course of the first week or so of December 2020 about the "feeling of cautious optimism and restrained hope", using a "hope for better weather” metaphor. Of course, it's not really about the weather. It's about waiting for something bad to be over and done with. Which particular bad thing? Well, it seems that 2020 had plenty to choose from!
